Kotaku has published the first video of single-player gameplay footage for Battlefield 3. There’s almost three minutes’ worth of footage in here. Be warned: there’s not a great deal of action until fairly close to the end of the clip.

The latest offering in the Battlefield series utilises the same ANT character-animation technology used in EA Sports games like the FIFA series. Among the other confirmed features of Battlefield 3 is the return of fighter jets, an ability for players to adopt a prone position, 64-player support for PC and 24 for consoles.

Battlefield 3 is scheduled for release in the pre-Christmas season between October and December this year.
