Xperia Play gets Minecraft early

Sony Ericsson has announced 20 new titles for the Xperia Play phone, including 10 exclusive to the platform. Among the titles announced is Minecraft, from Swedish indie developer Mojang.

Minecraft already has over eight million registered users and 50,000 new players joining every day, according to a Sony statement.

Minecraft is currently available via an online Java platform and Xbox 360. iOS and Android releases are reportedly in development.

In addition to the new titles announced, Sony Ericsson confirmed PlayStation 1 titles will be re-released for Xperia Play owners in the near future.
