Huawei execs to inspect NZ techMarch 8 - 3pm 267
Senior executives from Huawei’s global headquarters in Shenzhen, China are to visit New Zealand next week to assess our technology companies for collaboration opportunities.
Organised as a joint initiative by NZICT, NZTE and Huawei New Zealand, the three-day visit is a golden opportunity for our ICT industry to show its wares in front of a global powerhouse, and could result in some seriously tidy deals.
The visiting team will be led by Wu Kunhong, who is Huawei’s vice president of global procurement.
Arthur Zhang, CEO of Huawei New Zealand, says the seniority of the visitors demonstrates the regard with which the New Zealand ICT industry is held, and the strong relationship between Huawei and New Zealand.
“New Zealand is recognised worldwide as a leader in ICT technology and uptake,” Zhang says, “and the Huawei team is here to see the capability firsthand and make a commercial assessment.”
With all this goodwill, it seems now is the perfect time to try and orchestrate a few deals in the other direction.
