Is your data getting the sort of attention it deserves? Try Vocus…

Is your data getting the sort of attention it deserves? With the proliferation of dispersed applications, including WAN and cloud services, this question grows more relevant by the day.

Unless connectivity speeds and data integrity can be assured, the performance of the applications on which your business depends cannot be guaranteed.

Data is the single-minded focus of Vocus, a North Shore-based international specialist in storing and transporting information.

“We operate an international network with a number of data centres, and address a key component of the IT spectrum: we focus solely on data and how it gets from one place to another,” says Steven Stanford, NZ Sales Manager at the company.

Holding a unique position in the IT and telecommunications market in this country as, unlike all other organisations (including the major Internet Service Providers) which pass data on to other providers, Vocus terminates directly into cloud services companies.

“Our network connects directly into Australia, the United States, Hong Kong and Singapore, and on to wherever it is required to carry data for our customers,” Stanford explains.

“Combined with direct connections into over 400 content network providers [which include Amazon Web Services, YouTube, Google, Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce.com, etc] that means when we pick up your traffic, we look after it from source to the end point.”

As Vocus controls the path from end to end, if something does go wrong (hardly uncommon on the internet), Vocus solves it.

“NZ’s most connected data centre”

The company also recently unveiled New Zealand’s “most connected data centre”, officially opened by Hon Amy Adams.

As well as its unrivalled local and global connectivity, the new facility also connects directly to all other main telco carriers offering diverse access.

It has capacity to supply up to 30kW of power and cooling per rack (unassisted) – all within a highly secure setting. A nice added extra is the Vocus View app which allows customers to monitor power use, view live reports and have keyless entry.

The company’s track record speaks for itself. For nearly a decade, the neighbouring facility has delivered 100 per cent uptime of power and cooling, looking after clients such as Emirates Team New Zealand.

And with sound SLAs in place, this data centre is a refreshingly reassuring environment to be.
