FYI, this story is more than a year old

After announcing the 20 teams that will take part in the Imagine Cup 2011 finals back in December, Microsoft has given more details about the upcoming showcase.

Due to take place on April 12th at the OGGB Building, University of Auckland, Business School, the 20 student teams from all over New Zealand will present-it-out for the chance to represent New Zealand in the global final.

The day will kick off at 3pm with the teams showcasing their projects which Microsoft says will include laser guns and automated helicopters.

During the afternoon and evening the 20 finalists will be whittled down to just four, who will then compete for the top spot.

This event is free and "open to all”.
