SMX has signed up as a general member of the NZICT Group, which means the group has just hit the milestone of reaching 100 member organisations.

“With a healthy membership and broad representation across the technology sector, NZICT is growing from strength to strength,” said the company in a release. “We have some exciting expansion plans in prospect, working with other industry organisations.”

The group has also announced that the NZICT Board has elected Simpl CEO Bennett Medary as the new Chair. He takes over the role from Cisco Country Manager Geoff Lawrie, who recently completed his one year term as Chair.

Bennett said, “As Chair I have promised to engage strongly with other industry groups and government, in order to establish a unified vision-in-action for New Zealand’s technology industry that is aimed at propelling the nation forward.”

CEO of New Zealand-based systems integrator Kinetics Group Andrew Hunt was re-elected as the Vice Chair.
