All iWant for Xmas is an iPad Mini… maybe not admits AppleOctober 29 - 11am
Despite branding the upcoming holidays as an “iPad Christmas”, Apple admits iPad Mini fans may be left disappointed come December 25.
Speaking during the company’s earnings call this morning, CEO Tim Cook predicted a strong next quarter for the newly unveiled iPad product range, yet raised concerns over availability.
When quizzed about how many iPad Mini with Retina display devices will hit the shelves this xmas period, Cook admitted: “It’s not clear if we’ll have enough.
“It’s not clear that everyone who wants one will be able to find one.”
Alluding to the possibility of shortages, Cook continued: “It’s unclear whether we’ll have enough for the quarter or not.
“You never really know the demand until after you start shipping.”
Set to launch in New Zealand in late November, the device was unveiled at Apple’s live iPad event in San Francisco last week.
Moving onto the company’s flagship tablet device, the iPad Air, Cook predicts Cupertino will “do fairly well with the iPad”, forecasting ” a really great holiday season” to investors.
