Apple retail outlet Yoobee will launch its flagship store at Britomart in Auckland in two weeks, and tickets for the event appear to be selling slowly but steadily.

Techday readers expressed surprise when Yoobee announced recently that it would charge $150 for tickets to the launch, which will feature performances from Knives at Noon and DJ Phoebe as well as product collaborations with designers Cut Collective and Kathryn Wilson.

However, according to the Yoobee website, 26 tickets have been sold since our previous story was first posted, with the ‘items remaining’ figure dropping from 119 to 93.

Yoobee CEO Richard Webb says in a statement, “We’re really pleased with the feedback and RSVPs that we’ve had for our Britomart launch. We’re looking forward to a fabulous event with our Yoobee ambassadors, community members and other attendees.

“It’s going to be an awesome night that really shows off what Yoobee is all about.”

The event will be held on September 5, starting at 6pm.
