Lotto fans can now buy tickets, check results and access their stored lucky numbers direct from their smartphones, with the launch of a revamped MyLotto website optimised for mobile devices.

Originally launched in 2008, MyLotto has grown to 200,000 registered users, and accounts for around 5% of all sales across. To date, three million online winners have claimed $55 million in prizes.

Wayne Pickup, chief executive of NZ Lotteries, says the mobile-optimised site is a reflection of customer shopping trends.

“Mobile devices are becoming New Zealanders’ preferred way of getting online,” Pickup says.

“Increasingly, people are making more and more of their day-to-day retail purchases via their mobile phones.”

The site also includes an outlet finder that directs the user to their closest Lotto retail store.
