Is this Hollywood's version of When Harry met Siri…?
Thu, 8th Aug 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Now, the thought of Hollywood star Joaquin Pheonix falling in love with Scarlett Johansson on the big screen comes as no real surprise.

In fact, it is almost expected.

But consider the thought of Hollywood star Joaquin Phoenix falling in love with a highly advanced computer operating system?

Weird much?

Warner Bros soon to be released film, Her, explores the question of how far a relationship can develop between a man and his operating system.

While many claim Siri to be the latest man's best friend, would branding a virtual assistant as a love interest be a little far-fetched?

The upcoming science fiction romance film written and directed by Spike Jonze, essentially focuses on a man who falls in love with a computer system.

Set for release on November 20 this year, the trailer opens with "Welcome to the world's first artificially intelligent operating system, we'd like to ask you a few questions."

Phoenix's character, Theodore, down in the dumps after failed relationships past, is introduced to his new virtual assistant Samantha, aka Johansson.

Documenting the growing relationship between the two, the movie isn't your typical boy-meets-girl-story, more a boy-meets-computer.
