Worst films of the year…so far

Remember those movies you just wish you hadn’t seen? Like, ever?

Well unfortunately this year I already have a few, a few that were so bad they may scar me for eternity.

Anyways enough of me blabbing on, here’s my take on the worst films of the year so far…

Vampire Academy

I took my 12-year-old cousin to see this movie so I have an excuse. Even she thought it was terrible.

I wanted to see it because that chick from Modern Family was in it but I wish I hadn’t seen her in it at all. I didn’t think vampire movies could be worse than Twilight, but I was definitely wrong. Horrible acting, a horrible plotline, horrible everything.

Divergent

I admit I didn’t totally hate this film, in fact I believe I gave it a fine review when I watched it a couple of months ago. But overall, it stands out as a bad film this year.

And I think it’s because it’s just another teenage driven post-apocalyptic fantasy that has no real truth to it. Somehow only teenagers are capable of saving the world, and all the adults are either evil or stupid. That’s stupid. They need to fight a realistic enemy, and not just a bored 30 year old.

I, Frankenstein

There’s a review on Rotten Tomatoes that sums up this movie perfectly: “loud, incoherent, and dramatically listless, I, Frankenstein is a remarkably dull fantasy adventure that fails to generate much excitement or interest in its characters.”

It’s not just one of the worst movies of 2014, it’s one of the worst I have ever seen.

Winter’s Tale

There were so many good things said about this book, but the complete opposite happened in case of the movie.

Set in a mythic New York City and spanning more than a century, Winter’s Tale is a story of miracles, crossed destinies, and the age-old battle between good and evil. With such a strong cast you’d think they would be able to pull it off, but they didn’t. Not good.

That Awkward Moment

I’m biased because I cannot stand Zac Efron, but this movie sucked. It follows three best friends who find themselves where we’ve all been (or so its summary says), at that confusing “moment” in every dating relationship when you have to decide “so…where is this going?”.

This movie should leave and go home so no-one has to see it ever again. It’s not funny, it’s contrived and did I mention Zac Efron?

Sound off below about your worst films so far this year…
