State-owned telco Kordia has achieved Microsoft’s SIP Trunking certification for the company’s Unified Communications (UC) tool, Lync.

Kordia says it is the first company in New Zealand to be awarded the qualification, and one of only a handful in the APAC region.

Murray Goodman, Kordia business manager, says the qualification is expected to be a big draw card for customers, as Microsoft only warrants the portions of its Lync service that are provided by certified partners.

In order to achieve the certification, Kordia had to meet rigorous testing requirements.

Microsoft UC technology strategist, Paul Dolley, says the testing ensures that vendors providing interoperability with Microsoft UC solutions do so ‘in a consistent, high-quality and supportable manner’.
