Kingston Digital has signed a deal with BlockMaster to launch and distribute BlockMaster’s SafeConsole on secure USB drives.

“Kingston has been looking at partnering with a firm that specialises in USB management software as our customers have expressed interest in secure USB management solutions for some time,” said Nathan Su, Flash Memory Sales Director, APAC Region, Kingston.

“After looking into several companies in that market, Kingston concluded that BlockMaster would be an optimal choice. We are confident that the partnership will facilitate the sharing and development of the necessary technology to provide USB products with advanced secure management to our corporate customers," he added.

BlockMaster handles USB security solutions, including the centralised USB management software, SafeConsole.

Daniel Östner, CEO, BlockMaster, added, “BlockMaster has been considering various strategies to extend the reach for our SafeConsole product in all markets and concluded, like Kingston, that partnering would be an effective approach.”

In other Kingston news, the company was ranked No. 1 in the world by independent research firm iSuppli in the third-party DRAM module market for 2009. According to a report, Kingston’s revenue from memory modules was more than $US2.85 billion, giving it 40.3% of the total third-party memory module market.
