CA Technologies hire Channel veteran to drive ANZ sales

CA Technologies has announced the appointment of Simon Bills, who will head up the company’s Data Management business in the ANZ region.

As CA Technologies Data Management solutions are sold through the channel, Bills will work closely with distribution partners, resellers, managed service providers and system integrators.

“We have a very strong channel and Simon will be dedicated to responding to the needs of our partner community, while continuing to expand the footprint of our Data Management products,” says James Forbes-May vice president, Data Management, CA Technologies Asia Pacific.

Bills will be responsible for creating and managing territory and through-partner marketing strategies, and working closely with distribution partners like Express Data (Australia) and Westcon (New Zealand)

With more than 30 years in the IT industry and 20 years in sales and sales management, Bills joins CA Technologies from Acronis where he was the ANZ distribution and channels manager.

Prior to this, Bills was country manager for Quantum in both the UK and Australia/New Zealand where he managed all aspects of direct and channel sales.

In 2000 he was tasked with creating a direct sales team and partner channel including resellers, distributors and OEM partners for Quantum’s tape automation products.

Bills also held an APAC role managing OEM partners – HP, Sun, Dell and IBM – before taking on a channel role managing Quantum’s enterprise partners.
