Distribution Central has announced that its Managing Director, Nick Verykios, was named IT Executive of the Year at the 2013 CEO Magazine Executive of the Year Awards.

In the past year the company’s management has been recognised through several industry and business accolades.

DC’s CEO Scott Frew recently received Special Recognition for the Pearcy Foundation NSW 2013 ICT Entrepreneur of the Year, for “taking a risk and making a difference to the Australian ICT industry.”

Both Verykios and Frew were inducted into the ARN IT Industry Awards Hall of Fame respectively in 2012 and 2013.

These accolades recognise the personal contribution that both have made to DC’s success to date; to the IT Industry; and transcending the industry, as business entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders.

“We’ve experienced incredible growth in our 10 years of operation at DC, and received a raft of business and industry accolades for the business,” Frew says.

“Whilst we’ve both had colourful careers to date, these recent individual accolades are a testament to our contribution and success as entrepreneurs, which is personally significant to us.

“Backed by an incredible team, we are seeing the benefits of the investments we have made in the past year in systems, staff and further innovation, and we believe the best is yet to come for DC.”

DC is celebrating its tenth year of operation this financial year, which has seen the company grow from a $1.6 million dollar company with 11 employees in 2004 to $252 million in FY13 with 140 employees across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, representing more than 20 of the best technology and market leading vendor solutions.

The company has also received a range of business, industry and vendor accolades – most recently ranked 31st in the 2013 BRW 50 Best Places to Work (fifth consecutive year DC has been ranked in the top 50) and recipient of the Best Distributor Initiative at the 2013 ARN IT Industry Awards (for DC CloudSelect).
