Chris Barton takes over Techplus for Connector Systems

This article could be out of date, as it was published 1 year 27 days ago.Kiwi IT distributors Connector Systems have appointed Chris Barton to run Techplus, the Australian distribution company they acquired at the beginning of this month.
Barton’s most recent role was as regional channel manager for Clearswift APAC, but in his 10 years in the industry he has also worked as New Zealand sales manager for Websense, regional manager and channel manager (ANZ) for SonicWall, and business development manager for Sophos.
Dale Smith, managing director of Connector Systems, says this variety puts Barton in good stead for the newly created general manager role.
“Chris is a key component of our push into the Australian market,” Smith says, “and shares our vision of what Connector Systems can deliver in the future.”
