FYI, this story is more than a year old

Schools across the country now have the opportunity to purchase Google Chromebooks through the All of Government (AoG) procurement process.

AoG contracts provide one single supply agreement between approved suppliers and the government for items such as computers, travel and office consumables to provide savings to schools.

Local company, Cyclone Computers, will supply Chromebooks from both HP and Samsung that include the Google Management Console. The console makes it easy for schools to manage devices and apps across a fleet of Chromebooks both inside and outside of their network environment.

Of particular interest to schools, policies can be implemented that are adhered to both in school and also at home – increasing the security of a safe user environment.

The Google Chromebook is a new type of computer designed to be fast, secure and easy to use. Chromebooks run Chrome OS, an operating system that has multiple layers of security, cloud storage and the most popular Google products built-in.

Interest in Chromebooks is increasing as schools and businesses around the world the move to web-based applications and storage options to communicate and collaborate more effectively.

The inclusion of Chromebooks extends the choice of platform, OS and form factor to AoG customers.
