Connector Systems is wasting no time in putting its recently established Australian presence to work. Following the acquisition of Melbourne-based Techplus, the distributor has moved quickly to beef up capability in Sydney with the appointment of Chris Barton (read our story here) as general manager, and the addition of networks specialist Mathew Relph to develop Ruckus business (read our story here).

Advancement of the Australian market is not coming at the expense of domestic focus; reflecting a strong pipeline, the company has appointed two new customer service representatives, Andrew Sula and Nital Shah. Further strengthening the team is presales consultant Kylie Clark; all three are based in Auckland. Additionally, Mike Stuart joins the company as a security consultant in Wellington, where he will be responsible for developing and growing the SonicWALL business.

The recent addition of Sophos (read our story here) has further expanded the Connector Systems portfolio. Resellers can look forward to bringing a range of solutions to their clients which includes Endpoint Security, Encryption and Data Loss Prevention, Web and Email Protection, Mobile Control, Sophos Network Security and Unified Threat Management. The value-added distribution model means Connector Systems will support Sophos resellers with product training and demand generation activities.

Events at which Connector Systems can be seen this month include the Interface Xpo in Dunedin, Wellington, Taupo and Auckland, where Sophos, Tripleplay, Ruckus Wireless, SonicWALL and Bradford Networks will be exhibited. The company will also be at the Orewa Conference in Auckland on May 14th.

Training and Promotions

Connector Systems is hosting Ruckus training at its Wellington offices on 14-15 May. SonicWALL training takes place at its Auckland Training Facility on 29-30 May.

Driving the SonicWALL value proposition, resellers can also participate in the Supersonic Promo: buy three SonicWALL TZ 215 TotalSecure products and get another one free. The introduction of  a Customer Loyalty Programme also incentivises resellers with a discount on additional solutions: sell a secure upgrade firewall to qualify for a 30% discount on any solution from other SonicWALL product groups.

One each of the following is available at the discounted rate for every Secure Upgrade sold: Continuous Data Protection (CDP), Secure Remote Access (SSL VPN), Email Security (ES), WAN Optimization (WXA). This promotion runs until 30 June.
