Gen-i has appointed Robin Hartendorp to the newly created role of general manager Central Government, luring him from under the noses of previous employer Dimension Data.

In a move to strengthen the company's Wellington presence, Hartendorp joins the company with over 30 years of ICT experience, including 13 years at the Dimension where he held the role of CEO.

Effective on Monday April 15, Hartendorp's move to Gen-i was welcomed by company CEO Tim Miles:

"His senior leadership skills, outstanding track record and experience in the Wellington market, in particular with Government, will support our drive to further centre our business around our clients, how we serve them, and what they value.

"Government is a hugely important sector for Gen-i, and Robin’s appointment to this new role reflects the level of focus we’re applying to ensuring we can better service the Government sector.”

Dimension has replaced Hartendorp with Simon Gillespie following an in-house promotion, but Hartendorp remains focused on his new role at the ICT solutions provider.

“It is a very impressive course being set by Tim and the Gen-i team; with significant investment and focus on enhancing delivery outcomes for our clients," he said. "The capability and talent within Gen-i is outstanding and I look forward to utilising this extensively in the retention and growth in the Government sector.”

The company currently provides around 2,800 government and large corporate clients across New Zealand and Australia, with a current operating revenue of $1.36 billion as of the 12 months ended 30 June 2012.

In addition, Gen-i GM Professional Services, Murray Young has returned to Wellington on a permanent basis to further strengthen the company’s senior presence in the capital.
