Duo picks up Imation brand
Thu, 23rd Feb 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

ANZ IT distributors Duo New Zealand have picked up the Imation mobile security brand, and will be responsible for distributing their full range of products plus promoting the Imation partner program in New Zealand and Australia.

Imation’s range includes encrypted USB and hard drives, secure flash drives powered by IronKey, USB-based secure mobile desktops, secure mobile identity products, and a choice of cloud or on-premise secure data management solutions.

Jackie Hatchwell, co-director of Duo, says the move makes sense for the company, which already distributes the IronKey brand.

"Duo is highly recognised by the channel in the role as IronKey distributor,” Hatchwell says, "and with the addition of the Imation mobile security products we can now provide an across the board solution to protect data on the move.”

Imation VP of sales for EMEA and APAC, Nick Banks, says the mobile security business is growing in the New Zealand and Australia markets.

"We already have a large number of organisations and users deploying our security products across Australia and New Zealand,” Banks says, "and with a strong channel in place and more education on the importance of securing data and mobile workspaces, we are confident we will see more organisations invest in security products.”

Update: NZ IronKey distributors Express Online (formerly Simms) have announced they will be dropping the IronKey brand from their portfolio at the end of March, in order to focus on core vendors, most notably Huawei.
