Eaton expands Oz distribution with Ingram Micro deal

Power management company, Eaton, has appointed Ingram Micro as a new distributor in Australia.

Ingram Micro will distribute the full range of Eaton Power Quality products and services to the Australian IT reseller channel, including its data centre UPS technology, enclosures, power distribution units, software and connectivity products.

“Ingram Micro brings a broad customer base for Eaton’s IT Power Management solutions, but there are also significant synergies with other vendor lines that Ingram Micro distributes,” says Michael Mallia, General Manager, Power Quality ANZ, Eaton Industries.

“Our integration into VMware and Microsoft virtualisation platforms, along with our capabilities to integrate seamlessly into Cisco and EMC converged infrastructure solutions, will enable Ingram Micro’s partners to provide increased value to end users with accelerated deployment of resilient virtualisation and converged infrastructure systems.”

Eaton will support Ingram Micro with dedicated account management for pre-sales and post-sales engineering, training, inventory and technical support.

Ingram Micro’s business partner community will also benefit from Eaton’s extensive training and certification program.

”Eaton has a growing market presence and as an organisation we are always looking to extend our product portfolio to assist our customers with vendors eager to drive momentum,” says David Lenz, Senior Director, Advanced Solutions Group, Ingram Micro.

“At the same time, we value the fact that Eaton has a strong channel approach and a desire to build success with distributors and resellers in Australia.

“The market is changing rapidly and by working with Eaton we will be able to provide resellers and ultimately end users with a best-of-breed solution and more choice in the market.”

A core team at Ingram Micro will be aligned to Eaton and will work closely with the distributor’s existing commercial and SMB sales force to support its reseller base.
