Express Data New Zealand is hailing its appointment as a distributor for Avizia as an exciting extension to the current Cisco business here.

Avizia – which was started last year by former Cisco employees – develops technology offerings for the healthcare, education and government sectors.  Its offerings include rugged, lightweight mobile telepresence units; point of care video collaboration systems, or clinical assistants; and collaboration tools to integrate whiteboards with speakers and Cisco Telepresence endpoints.

Express Data will distribute the full range of Avizia products.

Phil Presnall, Express Data general manager of sales and marketing, says the partnership with Avizia provides an extension to the current Cisco business in New Zealand and the opportunity to build on Express Data’s expertise in the area.

The company’s offerings feature Cisco TelePresence technology exclusively.

Kerrie Hora, Avizia director of business development, says the company is focusing on key regions for expansion and sees a good fit and plenty of opportunity in New Zealand, particularly in education and healthcare.

Last week Presnall told The Channel that Express Data New Zealand has discussions underway with a number of vendors about potential distribution deals.
