FYI, this story is more than a year old

F5 Networks has appointed Tony Bill to the role of Managing Director in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), based in the company’s Sydney office.

As part of his new role, Bill will be responsible for managing F5’s business in the region as well as leading its broader strategy for growth, which will focus on the company’s new F5 Synthesis architectural vision.

“Today’s IT climate is undergoing a massive transformation. We are seeing a new level of global connectedness being driven by all kinds of Internet-enabled devices," says Christian Hentschel Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, F5 Networks.

"This shift has led to higher traffic volumes and data flow over networks, requiring a more efficient way for business to manage and plan interactions with their users.

"This has led to F5’s introduction of Software Defined Application Services (SDAS), which we see as the next phase in the evolution of application delivery, and is one of the key components of the F5 Synthesis vision.

"Given Tony’s extensive IT background and skillset, he’s an ideal fit to support F5 in ANZ as we enter this next exciting phase.”

A veteran with over 24 years’ experience in the IT industry, Bill joins F5 at a significant juncture.

Most recently, Bill was based in Singapore, where he spent four years in the role of Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Sales at Hewlett Packard (HP).

In this role he was responsible for HP’s regional sales strategy and execution across the company’s corporate, enterprise and public sector business units.

“I am joining F5 at an incredibly important time in the company’s evolution," Bill adds.

"The new ‘Synthesis’ architectural vision represents a meaningful shift in the way F5 markets and sells its solutions, driving additional opportunities.”
