Nutanix has entered into a distribution agreement with WhiteGold Solutions, set to cover the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Terms of the deal will see WhiteGold’s Virtual Computing (VC) Gold division offer Nutanix’s full portfolio of Virtual Computing Platform products to value added reseller and system integration partners in the region.

After recently announcing the Nutanix Partner Network, an end-to-end partner program, by partnering with WhiteGold, the company says it will further expand its distribution network.

The Nutanix Platform is a converged data centre solution that consolidates the compute tiers and storage tiers into a single, integrated appliance eliminating the need for a storage area network (SAN) or network attached storage (NAS).

“Nutanix was introduced into the Australian and New Zealand markets in 2012 by forward-looking resellers who understood how our converged compute and storage platform would uniquely address the needs of their clients,” says Matt Young, vice president APAC, Nutanix.

“We formally opened our own office in the region earlier this year with the prime objectives being the rapid enablement and go-to-market support of our channel partners.

“The appointment of WhiteGold is a critical part of this strategy and further illustrates our commitment to the channel.”

Leigh Howard, commercial director at WhiteGold, says the distributor had been looking for a new technology to add to its data centre portfolio in response to the dramatic changes happening in that market as companies continue to adopt cloud computing and virtualisation at a staggering rate.

“The accelerated demand for more efficient, high-performance and scalable data centre infrastructure gathers pace daily, and converged infrastructure has helped enterprises around the globe address this growing demand,” Howard says.

“We waited two years for a true, blue ocean, game-changing technology to add to our data centre eco-system as the core, converged infrastructure platform – and Nutanix represents exactly that.

“After researching and considering a number of new entrants to take to market in flash storage, flash memory, virtual server and converged infrastructure solutions, we truly believe that none of them match the simplicity, scale-out capability and completeness of the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform, period.

“This is not evolution in the data centre – it’s revolution.”

WhiteGold has been questioning the market for new innovation in next-generation technology to spearhead the company’s data centre technology stack, according to managing director Dominic Whitehand.

“We will enter the market with our renowned passion and aggression to match the significance of Nutanix being the fastest infrastructure start-up in the last decade,” he says.

“As of now, we are actively looking to recruit partners into the Nutanix Partner Network from our extensive network of resellers, integrators and data centre providers.

“With the elegance and efficiency of the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform solution far exceeding other data centre infrastructure offerings, it is certain to be well received by our channel and their customers.”
