Hitachi Data Systems Corporation has appointed Adrian De Luca as Asia Pacific chief technology officer, in a newly created position within the company.

Promoted from his role as ANZ CTO and pre-sales director in Australia and New Zealand, De Luca is tasked with overseeing the development of overall offerings for customers.

The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, says De Luca will also represent Asia Pacific in the new Office of Global Technology and Planning (Global OTP), formed to foster the creation and delivery of social innovation technologies.

In the new position, De Luca will be responsible for deepening the understanding of customer needs and business directions, combining the insight of economic and technological trends also.

“I am proud to announce the appointment of Adrian as Asia Pacific CTO," says Neville Vincent, senior VP and GM, Asia Pacific, HDS.

"It is important for HDS to understand customers’ evolving needs, and tailor technology solutions to deliver their desired business results."

De Luca, bringing 20 years of IT experience to the role, will also join the Global OTP team, which taps into the research and development talent of Hitachi and HDS to drive technology solutions for the advancement of a global community.

Vincent says Hitachi and HDS are actively working together on initiatives that span industries like healthcare, finance, energy, public safety and retail, with De Luca set to contribute his insight and knowledge, helping to turn Hitachi social innovation vision into reality.

“Adrian will play a critical role in extracting meaningful insights from the market, combining them with latest technologies to help customers innovate with information," Vincent says.
