Hitachi Data Systems has unveiled ‘IT Operations Director’ which it says is a an integrated IT lifecycle management solution that offers security management, asset management and software distribution.

The new system doesn’t involve training, specialist expertise or certification at either the reseller or client end.

Hitachi says it offers a way for resellers to expand their footprint on existing clients, while also branching into different markets and revenue streams.

Specifically, the company says it gives resellers the ability to manage their customer’s desktop IT assets more effectively and "will enable them to reduce their ICT costs by up to 43%”.

Tetsuya Masuishi, senior vice president, IT Operations Software, Hitachi Data Systems, added, "Today, businesses realise that asset management, security compliance and automated software deployment are critical for success. IT Operations Director delivers the added protection, control and efficiency all businesses need to effectively manage the IT environment.”

IT Operations Director can be integrated with Hitachi IT Operations Analyser for automatic discovery of assets in the datacenter.
