WAN optimisation company Silver Peak is looking to capitalise on opportunities in the New Zealand market, announcing a new distribution partnership with IT distributor Ingram Micro.

Part of a deal for the entire Asia Pacific region, the partnership will see Ingram Micro distributing Silver Peak's data center-class WAN optimisation products to resellers and customers around the country.

The companies will also co-invest in technical support staff, market development and cross-trained sales engineers across APAC.

Arturo Cazares, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Silver Peak, says New Zealand is a critical region for WAN optimisation because of our ‘highly distributed IT environments and inherent lower-quality WAN connectivity'.

"By teaming with Ingram Micro and our reseller partners in New Zealand, we will help customers cost-effectively maximise their WAN resources,” Cazares says, "and accelerate the adoption of business-critical applications between data centers, branch offices and the cloud.

Stuart Alexander, general manager for Ingram Micro's local Solutions Group, agrees, saying the growth of virtualised infrastructures and cloud-based applications offers a huge opportunity.

"We believe there's strong growth opportunity for Silver Peak's solutions in this market,” Alexander says, "as companies look to optimise their WAN infrastructure to increase performance, lower costs and take advantage of virtualisation and cloud technologies across the enterprise.”
