There’s something of a SeeChange happening at Ingram Micro New Zealand and it’s bringing with it (even) more mobile accessory options. That should be good news for nomophobes (that would be ‘no mobile phone phobics’) giving you extra gadgetry to safely take your handset further more often without fear of running out of battery life.

The distributor has partnered with Auckland-based mobile accessory product marketing specialist SeeChange Distribution in a deal which will bring mophie, Lenmar, Powerbag, HyperJuice and HyperDrive to market here. Ingram Micro will also distribute a range of mobile power and iPhone action sports cases from SeeChange vendor partners.

Kelly Eyerman, Ingram Micro New Zealand senior business manager, Apple Division & Solutions Services, says the increase in mobile devices is ‘astonishing’ and is equaled by increasing demand for power packs and accessory solutions.

She says the agreement helps resellers with margins by providing extra categories they can focus on. As to those margins, she says “They’re amazing. And let’s just leave it at that.”

Continuing, Eyerman says SeaChange focuses on identifying and representing mobile accessory solution vendors, as a consequence, building up an extensive portfolio of ‘mobile power-on-the-go’ devices and accessories for iPad, iPhone and other mobile devices. “By bringing these to market through Ingram Micro’s reseller partners in New Zealand, consumers gain access to a wide range of products that haven’t been available to them until now,” she says.

The new line up includes mophie’s OutRide, which enables the iPhone to be mounted to almost anything to shoot and share video. “It comes with seven clips, including one for surfboards,” Eyerman says, noting that there’s still a month or so of good weather left “so it’s a good option for the market right now. Then comes the ski season…”

Eyerman says Ingram Micro already has stock available for most products covered by the deal.
