Ingram signs 'any size' EFTPOS deal
Mon, 12th Jul 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Ingram Micro’s Vantex division will distribute Ingenico’s EFTPOS payment Solutions to the New Zealand market in partnership with local payment systems vendor, Skyzer Technologies.

Steve Marson, General Manager of Ingram Micro’s Vantex division, explained, "With banks implementing new security requirements for EFTPOS, retailers are faced with the need to upgrade non-compliant terminals by the end of May 2011. The Ingenico terminals offer them a great upgrade path. The Ingenico range of terminals utilises software developed by Skyzer in New Zealand which supports both the Paymark and EFTPOS NZ networks, so retailers get peace of mind when investing in an EFTPOS platform.”

Skyzer’s terminal software is developed and tested locally and Skyzer and Ingenico will offer flexible solutions which support third party applications such as mobile phone top-ups and gift and loyalty cards.

"These solutions offer our resellers the chance to bring some exciting technologies to their customers,” Marson continued. "All Ingenico terminals are fully EMV compliant to latest network specifications, and users can switch from the IPP to external PinPad without any additional keyset loading. The i3010 external PinPad’s ability to be easily inter-changed between terminals gives retailers both cost savings and flexibility.”

Gary Bigwood, Managing Director of Ingram Micro, added, "Resellers needing an EFTPOS solution of any size can now get it from Ingram Micro while also having access to the country’s largest range of technology products.”

Last week Ingram Micro announced it had got its qualifications to offer Altiris pre-sales presentations, user training and solutions to Symantec resellers.
