Mako Networks has appointed new distribution partners in three key Asian markets, marking the company’s first direct distributors in the region, strengthening their global presence in the process.

The network and payments security company reached agreements with Strateq of Malaysia, AMTI and 3D Networks of the Philippines and IT Consulting & Services of Singapore.

The Auckland-based company says the partners will distribute Mako network management and security solutions, including a range of network appliances and cloud-based Central Management System for connection, protection, control and reporting of Internet-related activity.

Mako says their entry to these markets is the result of an initiative commencing earlier in the year, with the appointment of Bruce Jarvis as vice president for the Asia region.

Through market research supported by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and commercial discussions with prospective partners, it became evident that the solutions previously provided in the region were falling short of the security and connection requirements of businesses operating there.

“Our initial market research showed us the Asian market was particularly underserved when it came to affordable network security and connectivity,” says Bill Farmer, Mako Networks CEO.

“Thanks to a concerted effort and the support of NZTE, we are making substantial headway in a market keen for the functionality and security our solutions provide.

“Our distribution channel now circles the globe, with established partners operating in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and North America.”
