Managerial doors revolve at D-LinkApril 12 - 8am
In what has been a case of out with the old and in with the new, networking vendor D-Link has appointed Jacky Chang to replace Domenic Torre as managing director.
The role, covering the Australian and New Zealand market, sees Chang move to Sydney, following 17 years with the company, including the recent role of vice president of South Asia.
“Jacky’s appointment to Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand comes at a pivotal time for D-Link as we continue to expand our networking, broadband and wireless technology capabilities,” says Maurice Famularo, MD ANZ, D-Link.
Replacing the outgoing Torre, Chang says her focus will be on further growing the business through close associations with company channel partners and customers across the region.
For former MD Torre however, the time was right for change.
“The role that I played at D-link was quite diverse,” he said.
“The business was becoming more complex and it was addressing many markets.
“My role was stretched quite thin and I did as much as I felt I could do.
“Half of my career was with D-Link and there will always be a soft spot in my heart for them but I felt that it was not right for me to be sitting in the position that I was in with thoughts of leaving at the back of my mind.”
When quizzed about his next role, Torre made one thing clear, it will be within the IT industry.
“My plans are quite simple,” he said.
“I do plan on staying in the IT industry and would like to embark on other opportunities that are more focused.
“I’ve got a number of potential opportunities, some of which could be with D-Link but not on a local level.”
