FYI, this story is more than a year old

HP is looking to get into the high-growth Unified Communications (UC) market, offering two new platforms to help enterprises deploy solutions from providers Microsoft and Polycom.

The first, HP AppSystem for Microsoft Lync, is an integrated platform built on HP ‘Converged Infrastructure' and preconfigured to allow quick and easy deployment of the UC solution.

The second is a combination of HP Networking products with Polycom's RealPresence platform, creating a customisable, open standards-based offering called HP and Polycom Rich Media Communications.

HP is also offering a portfolio of support and consulting services to help clients deploy the solutions, as well as optimise and secure their networks.

UC has been identified as a potentially high-growth technology in the New Zealand market, as businesses look to capitalise on the government's investment in an Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) network.
