NewLease replaces the late Doug Tutus.. names new CEO

Former senior MYOB, Oracle and Geac Computers executive Dominic O’Hanlon has been appointed as chief executive officer for NewLease.

O’Hanlon’s appointment follows the sudden death of co-founder and managing director Doug Tutus in February.

Dawn Edmonds, NewLease co-founder and interim CEO, says O’Hanlon is ‘the perfect mix of entrepreneurial passion and solid experience that we need for this next stage of our evolution’.

“I believe his enthusiasm, vision and understanding of the industry will both honour Doug’s legacy and take the business to its fullest potential.”

The company says O’Hanlon has wide experience, including strategic planning, go-to-market execution and key stakeholder management.

NewLease says O’Hanlon has strong established relationships with many of the company’s existing and potential partners.

“Whilst at MYOB, Dominic built an instrumental partnership with Microsoft in order to deploy MYOB AccountRight Live on the Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.

“In addition to his corporate relationships, Dominic has spent a number of years working with the Australian start-up community to help foster adoption and growth of disruptive cloud technology.”

O’Hanlon’s LinkedIn profile shows him most recently as the chief executive officer of Flare Ventures, ‘a small group of successful technology executives and entrepreneurs who have been directly involved in building, growing and exiting numerous software and technology companies.”

He was with MYOB from 2009 to 2011. From 2010 to 2011 he was also a non-executive director for internet security appliance company Astaro.

The company has also promoted Warren Nolan, currently general manager, sales to senior vice president, strategic alliances.
