NZICT to host govt IT procurement workshop - Updated
Wed, 8th Feb 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

ICT suppliers who sell to (or want to sell to) the New Zealand government are being invited to attend a workshop which will explore how ICT procurement is managed in the Beehive.

Organised by industry group NZICT, the Central Government ICT Procurement Workshop will take place in Wellington on Monday February 27 and in Auckland the day after that.

Speakers will be:

•Brent Chalmers, general manager of the Government ICT Supply Management Office (GISMO) at the Department of Internal Affairs

•John Ivil, general manager for All of Government Contracts at the Ministry of Economic Development

•Stuart Wakefield, director, Office of the Government CIO

Registration costs $75 for NZICT members and $110 for non-members. For more on the events, go here (Wellington) or here (Auckland).

Update: NZICT CEO Candace Kinser says both the Auckland and Wellington ICT procurement workshops have sold out.

The organisation is currently trying to secure bigger rooms for the workshops, taking place at the end of the month, so they can fit in more people.

"It's very exciting to have this much enthusiasm," Kinser says.
