Record-breaking Veeam nails NZJuly 26 - 9am
Veeam Software has enjoyed a record second quarter in New Zealand, achieving a whopping 220% year-on-year growth in the country.
The vendor now calls New Zealand home, with the Kiwi figures making it the best performing region across APAC.
Only a month after winning the HP AllianceOnce Partner of the Year Award for Converged Storage in Las Vegas, the company has laid the success on the shoulders of one man.
Since his appointment as New Zealand channel manager in February, Matt Harrison’s impact on the financials is unquestioned according to Don Williams, Veeam’s APAC regional director.
“He’s our sole person on the ground, but he does have a team of resources in Australia that also work the New Zealand market for us,” Williams said.
“He’s investing his time with key partners through training and enablement, and has been able to build a larger team through that partner community. The partners are a lot more self-sufficient.
“At the same time, Matt’s been able to knock on the doors of the large end user accounts and help create some of the demand for our partners, working closely with them in bringing the opportunities to closure.”
Boasting around 200 registered partners in the Kiwi market, Williams said the three top performing partners in the country were Gen-i, Datacom and PB Technologies.
“We’re having success with very small organisations through to some large companies as well as working with commercial and government agencies,” he said.
“Our strategy for New Zealand is to expand our team, and across APAC during the second half of the year we will be releasing version 7 of our flagship product Backup and Replication.”
Despite the record-breaking results, the company should not be shocked. In February this year the backup, replication and virtualisation management solutions provider seen business in New Zealand increase 69% during the year.
