Riverbed Technology has appointed Steve Dixon to the role of senior vice president, Asia Pacific and Japan Sales, where he will be responsible for charting and executing the sales and distribution strategy of the company across the region.

The region represents one of the fastest growing markets globally for Riverbed, where it has established presence across 14 countries in the region.

Elaborating on the region’s strategic importance to Riverbed, Dixon commented: "The rapid development in Asia has seen the fast building and evolution of IT networks and infrastructures, be it consolidated, cloud or virtualised.

"Over the last few years, we are excited to witness the increasing demand for application performance solutions from organisations and service providers alike.

"I am honoured to be driving the sales efforts in this dynamic growth region for Riverbed and am fully committed to strengthening our presence across Asia Pacific and Japan to better serve our customers and partners.”

After working for the company for seven years in various senior management roles, prior to this appointment, Dixon was the senior director and vice president for Asia Pacific Channels.

Dave Peranich, president, worldwide field operations at Riverbed said: “Steve’s execution skills make him uniquely qualified to guide the Asia Pacific and Japan sales team through the next phase of our growth and development.

"Steve offers genuine passion for our customers, partners, and employees.”
