Veeam Software have appointed three new customer support engineers to provide complex technical support the company's growing customer base across the Asia Pacific region.

Speaking to TechDay at the Westcon Imagine Event last week, the backup, replication and virtualisation provider says George Chang, Terry Nikopoulos and Farhad Majedi will be based in Sydney.

“We experienced a record-breaking year for the Asia Pacific region in 2012, and are continuing to achieve strong growth, especially as the adoption of cloud-based technologies continues to increase,” says Don Williams, regional director for APJ, Veeam Software.

“We are excited to bring on board three fantastic new additions to our team to help meet the needs of our local customers.”

Veeam has attracted 1,500 new customers across the Asia Pacific region over the past year and has an expected projected growth of 55% over the coming year.

A significant contributor to Veeam’s overall success has been its cloud business according to Williams, which has seen year-on-year revenue growth of 75% in Australia and 287% in New Zealand in Q1 2013 compared to the same period in 2012.

First quarter ANZ highlights include:

• Enhancements to the Veeam ProPartner program – offering deeper incentives and rewards, new sales and marketing tools, and free technical and sales training.

• Veeam ProPartner of the Year Awards – aimed at recognising the contribution, innovation and success of Veeam’s partners have achieved in implementing virtualisation solutions.

• Veeam Backup Cloud Edition Released – Turns every leading mini-storage cloud, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon S3 and Glacier, Rackspace, HP Cloud, Google Cloud and many others, into an easy-to-use data repository for backups, providing a powerful and affordable alternative to tape and traditional offsite backup storage.
