The new ‘Digital Locker’ enables Ingram Micro New Zealand’s channel partners to easily purchase and securely download select Microsoft Office products onlinein minutes.

“If maximising your time is important to you, you really need to look at this capability and how it can help you be more efficient” says Gary Bigwood, Ingram Micro’s MD, regarding Microsoft’s Electronic Software Delivery (or ESD).

“The digital locker makes it easy for our customers to manage licences and provides a powerful way to efficiently sell more, support business growth and compete more effectively in the market at speed,” he adds.

Currently Ingram Micro is the only New Zealand Microsoft Office distributor able to offer ESD to resellers and retailer partners. It’s a great way to sell Office.

Ingram Micro and Microsoft are leading the way by expanding digital capabilities to enable partners to simply and securely deliver activation codes directly to the end-user through the retail and reseller channels.

“We’re excited that ESD is now a part of the day-to-day value-add Ingram Micro brings to our Microsoft business and that we are able to launch something that offers so much additional value to resellers,” says Warwick Grey, Channel Manager, Microsoft New Zealand.

“This allows our customers to be more responsive to urgent end-user requirements with fewer risks of shipping delays.

“One of the biggest challenges facing us and our channel is managing inventory levels, but with ESD we now offer online product key procurement without the need for physical product and many of the previous delays in software deployment go away.”

Microsoft’s vision is to expand the reach of digitally delivered products and strengthen the company’s brand worldwide by consistently providing the best partner and customer experiences.

FPP SKU partner incentives extend to the ESD SKU and resellers don’t need to worry about holding inventory.

Should there be a need for a fast deployment, resellers no longer have to wait until they receive a boxed product.

“The entire process is automated, so there is no wait time,” concludes Bigwood.

“This is a direct connection between the systems. It generates the result that the reseller needs in less than 5 minutes, while saving them an extensive amount in hard costs.”
